The World Bank says it plans to provide financial assistance to Sri Lanka after formulating a specific macroeconomic policy framework.
The World Bank said in a statement that it was coordinating with the International Monetary Fund and other development partners to assist Sri Lanka.
They also said that Sri Lanka needs to formulate a clear policy framework for achieving economic stability.
Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe removed from the post of Governor of the Central Bank
It is revealed that the government is focusing on removing the Governor of the Central Bank Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe. Former Governor of the Central Bank Dr. Indrajith Coomaraswamy is to be appointed instead.
Indrajith Coomaraswamy is also a member of the advisory committee appointed to assist the government in negotiating with the International Monetary Fund.
As the economic crisis intensified, Nandalal Weerasinghe, who arrived from Australia at the invitation of the President, was appointed Governor of the Central Bank.
