The group of Sri Lankans who saved by the Ukrainian army tried to enter Europe illegally – Minister of State for Foreign Affairs

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Taraka Balasuriya says that the 7 Sri Lankans who were rescued by the Ukrainian army while they were being held by Russian soldiers are a group of people who tried to immigrate to Europe illegally.

 In a press conference held yesterday (19), the Minister of State said that these people, who are residents of the North-Eastern areas, were captured by Russian forces last March.

 However, the Minister of State also mentioned that the group is in good health.
