President Ranil Wickramasinghe says that Shanaka and the team took advantage of the defeat and gained strength to advance to the Asian Cup.

 The President says that if you think like that, it is not a difficult task to make the country win in front of the world.

The President also pointed out that working together as a team helped them win.

The President said this while addressing the ceremony held for the appreciation of the two Sri Lankan teams who won the Asia Cup 2020 Cricket Championship and the twelfth Asian Netball Championship and the medal winners of the Commonwealth Games.
