Economic Crisis in Sri Lanka-Even though the price of gas is low today, the price of food in restaurants cannot be lowered

The All Ceylon Restaurant Owners Association says that even though the price of gas is low today, the price of food in restaurants cannot be lowered.

Mr. Asela Sampath, president of the association, said that due to the black market mafia, the prices of goods are not reduced and therefore consumers are suffering.

 He also mentioned that flour importers in Sri Lanka are stockpiling flour and releasing it at higher prices through the black market.

He further said that although the price of gas is low, the price of food has not been reduced or increased.
