Inflation in Sri Lanka-China will waive the debt of 17 countries. Friendly Sri Lanka is not on that list

Chinese State Minister Chang Yi has announced that China has decided to completely abandon interest-free loans given to 17 African countries.

The Chinese State Minister has announced this decision by connecting to the 8th Ministerial Conference of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum held in Senegal recently.

He has also explained that this decision was taken to strengthen friendship and cooperation for a new era of common development between China and Africa.

He also pointed out that all the promises made by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation held in Dakar, Senegal in November 2021 have been fulfilled.

He also mentioned that more than 3 billion of the promised 10 billion dollars in credit facilities have been given to African finance and institutions and nearly 2.5 billion dollars have been given to priority programs in Africa.
