Four billion dollars from China to Sri Lanka

Bloomberg reports quoting the Sri Lankan ambassador to China that Sri Lanka is continuing to negotiate with China for US$4 billion in aid and believes that China will agree to it.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Ambassador Palitha Kohona said that China will be asked for a billion-dollar loan to pay the same amount as the Chinese debt due this year.

Kohona has further said that Sri Lanka is looking for a line of credit of US$1.5 billion to pay for Chinese imports and is also looking to enable an exchange of US$1.5 billion.
