Senior journalist Sunil Madhava Premathilaka passed away

Senior journalist Sunil Madhava Premathilaka passed away last night. He was 78 years old at the time of his death.

Sunil Madhava Premathilaka, a journalist as well as a book author, is one of the pioneers of journalism in the country.

By writing a diary of a truth-teller’s , he left an indelible mark on the minds of Sri Lankan readers.

He has translated several books, including Crying Freedom, America America, Carolina’s Diary, and Mohamed Ali.

Mr. Sunil Madhava Premathilaka was also recently awarded the State Art Award. He is the son of Meemana Premathilaka, a great poet of the Colombo era.
