The Sri Lankan origin Miss International UK is back in Sri Lanka

Miss Evangeline Elchmanar, the first non-white woman to win the Miss International UK pageant, has arrived in Sri Lanka.

She was born to Sri Lankan parents and represented the city of Birmingham and won.

She will be representing the United Kingdom at the 60th International Miss Universe pageant in October this year.

This is one of the three biggest pageants of Miss Universe and Miss World. The main purpose of her visit to Sri Lanka is to join hands with the Sri Lankan tourism industry and contribute to the promotion of Sri Lanka in the United Kingdom.

Since she has been involved in charity since she was a child, her main initiatives in Sri Lanka include building houses for the poor, funding various school projects, raising awareness against domestic violence, raising awareness on women’s empowerment, and standing up against climate change.

Awareness-raising, promoting sustainable living and organic culture, etc. Evangeline’s father was a businessman in Batticaloa and her mother was a resident of Galle.
