Permission to import 500 buses from India
The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has been approved by the Cabinet to purchase 500 new 32-seater buses under the Indian Loan Scheme. Accordingly, the recommendation made by the Standing Committee on Procurement appointed by the Cabinet of Ministers to proceed with the procurement of these buses to be awarded to Ashok Leyland Company of India. A Tik Tok video killed a boy
A youth has been stabbed to death in the Madampitiya Lane area in Grandpass following a dispute over a video on a social media network, police said. The deceased has been identified as a 17-year-old resident of Wellampitiya. The stabbing had taken place in the Madampitiya Lane area yesterday (03) afternoon and the victim died after being admitted to the Colombo National Hospital. This young man with two of his friends walking towards the Henamulla Randiya Uyana apartment complex on Madampitiya Road. Police said the young man, who was following them, was attacked with a sharp weapon by another group of acquaintances. Police say the stabbing was the result of a dispute with the victim over a Tik Tok video. A Strom damaged houses in Jaffna
