A man who went to bathe in a canal in the Meemure area in the Udadumbara Police Division has gone missing after drowning.

 Police say that the man who went missing yesterday (23) afternoon had come for a picnic with another group and had been involved in the accident.

 The missing person is a 30-year-old resident of Thibirigaskatuwa, Negombo.

 Residents and police are searching for the missing man. Udadumbara Police are conducting further investigations.
