The brutal murder of a minor

A youth was hacked to death with a piece of glass in Kadawatha.

 The incident took place at a house in the Andrews Lane area in Kadawatha

The youth succumbed to his injuries on admission to the Ragama Hospital

The police stated that the murder had taken place due to a dispute that had arisen in a rented room in the Kadawatha area yesterday (22nd) morning.

The deceased has been identified as a 20 year old resident of Gonahena. It has been revealed that the murder took place due to a love affair.

 The 19-year-old suspect was arrested in the Kadawatha area along with a piece of glass, police said. The minor girl was staying in the rented room.

 It has been said that the young man had carried out the deadly attack after seeing her with her ex-boyfriend.

The deceased has been identified as Raju Madushanka, a resident of Gonahena, Kadawatha.

It is reported that she had resumed the relationship after seeing her first boyfriend at a musical show held in Kadawatha last night.

 The two then arrived at the boarding house where she was staying.

Upon hearing about this, the youth who had committed the murder had arrived at the house where she was staying at around 3 in the morning.

The incident has witnessed the incident that she was with her ex boyfriend and the attack was carried out.

It has been revealed that the minor girl had escaped from probation and stayed in a rented room.

The youth arrested in connection with the incident has confessed to the police about the manner in which the murder took place.
