At least 19 people, including nine children, have been killed in a fire that broke out in an apartment building in New York.

Another 32 people were injured in the blaze, foreign media reported.

The fire broke out on the second and third floors of a 19-storey building, and smoke billowed from each floor.

 It is considered to be the worst accident in New York, USA in 30 years.
