Grandfather’s negligence brings death to grandson

A child who was standing in the back of a cab while reversing a cab parked in the corridor of a house has died after getting stuck in the “veranda section”.

 The accident took place in the Nimalawa area in the Akuressa Police Division yesterday (02) morning, police stated.

The deceased has been identified as a 3-year-old  a resident of Kananke area. Police say that the cab was driven by the grandfather of the deceased child.

Investigations have revealed that the accident had taken place due to his  careless driving.

 The grandfather of the deceased child has been arrested in connection with the accident, police said. Akuressa Police are conducting further investigations.
