The fake CI who deceived the girls arrested

A person posing as a police officer has been arrested in the Sippukulama area in Polonnaruwa.

Police said that the suspect was arrested by the Polonnaruwa Divisional Crime Investigation Division on a tip-off that he had breached his promise to marry a young woman by posing as a police officer.

Police also found a uniform with the Chief Inspector’s insignia, a photograph taken from the uniform and two counterfeit Rs. 5,000 notes in the suspect’s possession.

 It has been revealed that the arrested suspect is a 34 year old resident of Seeppukulama area.

 He is due to be produced before the Polonnaruwa Magistrate’s Court today (26) and the Polonnaruwa Divisional Crime Branch is conducting further investigations.
