A bid of US $ 250 million has been submitted for a 510 kg Blue gen cluster found in Ratnapura.
Minister of State Lohan Ratwatte stated that the bid was received at a public gem auction in England. However, the owners of the gemstone and the Gem and Jewelery Authority have not agreed to the price, he said.
The Minister further stated that the price offered by Sri Lanka for this purpose is US $ 400 million. He made the remarks during the Budget Committee Stage Debate.
