The US bans Sri Lanka from Democracy Summit

The US State Department has decided not to invite Sri Lanka to the ‘Democracy Summit’ to be held in the United States next month.

India in the South Asian region has also invited Maldives and Nepal to the conference, which will be attended by 110 countries from around the world.

The United States has not invited China, Russia, or Pakistan in the South Asian region to the summit.

China has strongly opposed the inclusion of Taiwan in the list of invited countries released by the US State Department.
