Two youths were died when a motorcycle collided with a lorry in the Paranthan area in Kilinochchi on the Jaffna-Kandy A-9 main road, Kilinochchi Police said.

The accident had taken place when a lorry was parked on the side of the A-9 main road at Paranthan Junction when it collided with the bike which was speeding.

Preliminary police investigations have revealed that both the youths who arrived on the motorcycle had died.

Police suspect that the accident had taken place due to the inability to control the speed of the motorcycle due to the rain.

The deceased have been identified as 29-year-old U. Mahendrarasa and 34-year-old Saundanandan Kandeepan, both residents of Paranthan.
