Dont play Manike Mage Hithe at Katina perahara- The Ministry of Buddhasasana and Religious affairs

The Ministry of Buddhasasana and Religious affairs requests that only songs with a religious background and suitable for a religious place be used in the publication of devotional songs and Katina Perahera during in temples.

Its secretary Prof. Kapila Gunawardena says that only songs with a religious background and not popular songs should be used.

He was commenting on criticism on social media for not following the songs and health guidelines used for Katina Pinkam. Therefore, it is requested to hold Katina Punya festivals by following the health guidelines.

The playing of the song ‘Menike Mage Hithe’ in Katina Perahera is being heavily criticized on social media these days.
