The Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, the Chief Justice of the Chilaw Division, Colombo, Ven. The Thera has passed away while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo last night (27).
He was 85 years old at the time of his death.
Ven. Welamitiyawe Kusaladhamma Thero who served as the Chief Incumbent of the Vidyalankara Pirivena in Peliyagoda is considered to have done a great service for the betterment of the Sasana in this country.
A spokesman for the Vidyalankara Pirivena in Peliyagoda stated that a decision will be taken regarding how the last rites of the Thero will be performed.
