Raja Collure, the GovNorth-WesternNorth Western Province, has been removed from the post of Chairman of the Communist Party of Sri Lanka.
The party announces that the Central Committee of the party has also decided to remove him from the post of party chairman. His membership, however, will continue.
Opposition groups called for a halt to the protests, saying he was considering suspending teachers’ salaries. It is also stated that it has been decided to suspend his presidency based on the relevant statement.
