Fuel price should be increased

He also said that the loss per liter of diesel is Rs. 31.46. He pointed out that the last time fuel prices were increased, the price of a barrel of petrol in the world was $ 78.8 and today it has risen to $ 92. Due to this situation, the loss of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation as at August 31 is Rs. 70 billion, he said. Therefore, the first thing to do in such a situation is to increase fuel prices, he added. He was addressing a media briefing at the Ministry of Energy.
