I am resigning due to the influence of two ministers ,The reason is the garlic racket – Executive Director of the Consumer Affairs Authority

Thushan Gunawardena, Executive Director of the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) says that two ministers are upset and are planning to remove him from his posts due to the action taken against the CWE for fraud and corruption.

He said that his life was being threatened with death and that he would resign from the post to save his life after informing the President in a letter.

He said that the recent reason for this pressure on him was to continue to complain to the relevant authorities against the garlic fraud.

He said he had learned that they were preparing to appoint a henchman to the post after he resigned, adding that the authority would then become a private company of the two ministers.
