The Health Trade Union Confederation is requesting for the scientific closure of the country to save the public and health staff from the corona pandemic.

They made this request to the government during a silent protest in front of the Colombo National Hospital.

If the government does not close the country by this Friday, the trade unions will close the country from next Monday, its health representatives said.

Simultaneously, about 15 other hospitals in the island staged protests.
