It is reported that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa was not aware of the appointment of the Pavithra Wanniarachchi to be appointed Minister of Transport.

Shortly after she was sworn in as the Minister of Transport at the Presidential Secretariat, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa telephoned Wanniarachchi to inquire about a role to be played in the Ministry of Health.
Ms. Wanniarachchi has pointed out that she is now the Minister of Transport and not the Minister of Health at the time.

It is reported that the Prime Minister also came to know about the change of Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi’s ministerial post at that time.
