Champika seeks Sajith’s candidature for PM’s post and Deputy Leader

A special envoy of Patali Champika Ranawaka and a special envoy of Sajith Premadasa have held a special discussion with the consent of both parties on 11th.

Patali Champika Ranawaka’s party had strongly stated that he should be the Prime Ministerial candidate in the forthcoming election.

It has also been confirmed that the Patali Champika Ranawaka party has requested that he should be given the post of Deputy Leader of the Samagi Jana Balawega before the election.

Responding to this, Sajith Premadasa’s Special Representative had stated that the party has more senior members such as those who have been representing the party for 32 years, and the MPs senior than Champika Ranawaka. Mentioned by name ;

The proposal brought by Mr. Champika Ranawaka’s party cannot be accepted as there are such leaders, Sajith Premadasa’s Special Representative had stated.

Although Patali Champika Ranawaka has denied allegations that he had met Ranil Wickremesinghe, there evidence that he had held a three-hour discussion at Grillin Park, Kollapitiya three weeks ago, media reports.
