A kilo of bananas costs Rs. 8, making it difficult for farmers.

A situation has arisen where farmers are unable to sell bananas at the Embilipitiya Dedicated Economic Center yesterday because they have to sell their produce at a very low price.

The Embilipitiya Economic Center has been received stocks of vegetables and fruits since morning and the price of bananas was very low.

When a kilo of sour bananas was sold at Rs. 8-10, a kilo of kolikuttu was sold at Rs. 60-70 and a kilo of sugar bananas sold at Rs. 30.

According to the reports Eighty-five thousand kilos of 85,000 kilos of fruit had been received by the morning of yesterday.
