Private hospitals charging unfairly from corona patient

Private hospitals that treat patients with corona infections are being unfairly charged, says Samagi Jana Balawewa MP Mujibur Rahman.

He wrote a letter to President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa urging him to take immediate action to prevent it.

Although no significant treatment has been given to the infected in private hospitals, a large bill will be charged for it, he said.

He said that even after the doctors had recommended that some infected people be discharged from hospitals, private hospitals were holding patients for days and offering large bills for various contracts.

He said that he too had been subjected to such unfair charges when he was infected with corona and that he hopes to speak about this in Parliament as well.
