Farmers in long queues for fertilisers

Farmers cultivating vegetables in the Nuwara Eliya area have been waiting in front of the Nuwara Eliya Agrarian Services Center offices to obtain chemical fertilizers since early morning yesterday, but they have not received the chemical fertilizers that meet their demand. One million corona infections will be reported in Sri Lanka in 100 days – Ministry of Health predicts

The ministry warns that more than a million cases of corona infection could be reported in the country within 100 days, Dr. Hemantha Herath, Deputy Director-General of Health Services, Media Spokesman, Ministry of Health, said. If a corona infected person transmits the disease to five other people, the number of patients will double every five days. Accordingly, if the number of patients doubles 20 times, the number of infected people in the country will exceed one million within 100 days, he said.
