The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) says that despite the statistics on the spread of corona virus in Sri Lanka, the country is currently heading towards the worst possible situation in India.

Dr. Prasad Colombage, a member of the executive committee of the association says that the government is once again being urged not to simply ignore the current situation.

He added that this was not a simple event like the first wave but a very dangerous wave and there was a tendency for a serious increase in the number of patients in the coming days and that urgent action should be taken to address the possible difficulties.
