Can AstraZeneca second dose replace with another vaccine?

Co-Cabinet Spokesman Udaya Gammanpila says that those who received the first dose of AstraZeneca should not have any fear of taking the second dose.

He further said that according to the expert opinion, it is not a problem to get the first dose of one vaccine and the other dose of another vaccine. While joining a Cabinet decision briefing held today (May 11).

The Co-Cabinet Spokesman further noted that steps will be taken to obtain the extra stock of AstraZeneca vaccine through the World Health Organization or from a country that has already purchased it like in Indonesia as well as in African countries or to obtain the required stock of vaccine to the country. Accordingly, the required stock of vaccines will be available within the next month.
