Public service under minimum staff from today: pregnant mothers are not allowed.

The Ministry of Public Services, Provincial Councils, and Local Government states that a circular will be issued today(May 10) authorizing Secretaries to Ministries and Heads of Departments to carry out essential services in the public service with a minimum staff.

Its secretary, J.J. Mr. Ratnasiri stated that pregnant mothers will not be called to work under this circular.

The decision was taken at a discussion chaired by Basil Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday (May 09).
