Showers or thundershowers during the evening or night in many parts of the island today (April 06).
The Met Department warns that showers will occur in the Eastern Province and in the Hambantota District and Sabaragamuwa, Central, Western, Uva, North Western and Southern Provinces.
Heavy showers over 75 mm are also possible. It also urges the public to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers by temporary strong winds and thunderstorms.
