Stop Asian Hate ; BTS

BTS, the South Korean pop group has expressed their support for the Stop Asian Hate movement by posting a letter on Twitter.This movement was arisen after increasing of the crimes against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. The statement was published both in Korean and English. According to a report released by the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism the anti-Asian hate crimes have been increasing by nearly 150% in that year 2020. The statement says;“We send our deepest condolences to those who have lost their loved ones,” and aso it reads “We feel grief and anger. We recall moments when we faced discrimination as Asians. We have endured expletives without reason and were mocked for the way we look. We were even asked why Asians spoke in English.” These stop Asian Hate movement started after eight people were killed in a series of shootings at three Atlanta spas six of whom were Asian women on March 16.

Suez Canal reopens and Ships begin sailing through cleared waterway

The Ever given ship which was blocking the Suez river was finally freed by salvage crews. Nike sues over shoes with human blood ; “Satan Shoes”

Nike company is sues over a controversial pair of “Satan Shoes” that said to be contain a drop of real human blood in the soles. The trainers cost around $1,018 (£740) and released 666 pairs of the shoes released by MSCHF on Monday in collaboration with rapper Lil Nas X and it was sold out in less than a minute. The shoe launching was coinciding with the launch of Lil Nas X’s latest song Montero (Call Me By Your Name). The song was also debted by the youtube. In the music video, the rapper is seen sliding down a stripper pole from heaven to hell, wearing a pair of the trainers and people are compaired this with the Bible verse Luke 10:18 – “So He told them, ‘I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven’.” The shoe is red and black in colour and it has Nike air bubble cushioning sole, containing 60 cubic centimetres of red ink and a single drop of human blood.

Six plastic based products will be banned from tomorrow

The Ministry of Environment said that six type of plastic and polythene based products will be banned for local use from tomorrow( March 31) Also the gazette notification in this regard has already been issued, Minister of Environment Mahinda Amaraweera said. He also explained that there is no restrictions to exporting the product. Also the products now available in the shops can be sell until they are end. Central Environmental Authority (CEA) will be conducting periodic factory inspections to find whether the factories are still manufacturing for local use. But considering requests from some companies a grace period of three months will be given to be marketed.

The second dose of AstraZeneca will be administered from April

The second dose of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine will be administered from April 19, Minister of Primary Health Care, Epidemics and COVID-19 Disease Control Dr. Sudarshini Fernandopulle said. The AstraZeneca Covishield vaccine would be given to those who got the same vaccine as the first dose on January 29 Chief Epidemiologist Dr. Sudath Samaraweera said. Also it is reported that 894,000 people have received first jab in Sri Lanka since January this year.

The policeman who assaulted a civilian arrested today

Police media spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that the policeman who had assaulted and jumped on a driver in Pannipitiya yesterday has been arrested today. He further explained that He was interdicted yesterday over the inscident and he is attached to the Maharagama police. Minister of Public Security Rear Admiral (Retired) (Dr.) Sarath Weerasekera had called for an investigation into the incident. And the policeman will be produced before the Nugegoda Magistrate’s Court later today.(March 30)

Brisbane is lockdown again; Australia

The Australian city of Brisbane announced a three-day lockdown again due to COVID 19 infection which has grown to seven cases. Brisbane is the Queensland state capital city and it is home to over two million residents. The lockdown will begin the at 17:00 today (March 29) City was previously shut down in January due to a single COVID 19 positive case for three days. The city was reported only few cases after the first wave of COVID 19 occurred in Australia.
