Two dead sea turtles have been found in Ganduwa Island on the Weligama beach.

Wild life afficers had came to the area and examined the bodies. Wildlife officials stated that two spawning turtles have died after being caught in fishing nets. Also it is reported that stomachs of the dead turtles had also cracked and opened and the eggs had came out.

Later wildlife officials buried the two turtles at the Weligama beach.
