Police media spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana states that a team of criminal investigation department have been appointed to inquire about the controversial statement made by Azath Salley.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) will lead the five members from the CID. The investigations are currently under way.

Azath Salley the leader of national unity front ( NUF) recently made a controversial satement about the law of the country. He also complained about the activities of Criminal Investigation Department.

Rear Admiral Sarath Weerasekara, Minister of Public Security said that CID had instructed to do further investigations on the case.
