President of Sri Lanka is Staying in a Ship- Foreign media

Foreign News reports that the President of Sri Lanka, Gotabaya Rajapaksa, is currently on a ship anchored near Sri Lanka. Although the initial report stated that there was information about the presence of a navy vessel in Sri Lankan waters, it was later removed. The report also claims that the president is issuing announcements from an undisclosed location.

Mr. Anura Dissanayake, the leader of Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna states that the Galle face protests are a group of sub-organizations of their party. He says that organizations such as Socialist Youth Union, Socialist Students Union, Socialist Art Union etc were in the protest. The media reports that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has signed his letter of resignation from the office of President. The newspaper has reported in its original news that this letter has been signed with the date of July 13th, tomorrow.  Accordingly, the speaker will announce the president’s resignation tomorrow.

Political Crisis in Sri Lanka -India is ready to give military support to Rajapaksha Family

Former minister Subramaniam Swamy, a leader of the Indian Bharatiya Janata Party, has suggested that if support is needed to save the Rajapaksa family, the Indian Army should be dispatched. Posting a note on his Twitter account, he has indicated that if Indian military support is needed for the Rajapaksas, India should provide it. Fuel is transported to IOC filling stations 24 hours a day

Ceylon Petroleum Private Tanker Drivers Association has taken steps to transport fuel for Ceylon IOC filling stations all over the island  24 hours a day. Its joint secretary Mr. Shanta Silva said that fuel will be transported to Cipetco filling stations only for essential services. Mr. Shelton Fernando, President of the All Ceylon Petrol Station Owners Association, said that 90% to 95% of petrol stations are currently closed without fuel.

Economic and political crisis in Sri Lank- Only 500 buses in the country will be in service

Ceylon Private Bus Owners’ Association says due to the fuel crisis in the country buses will not run properly today (11). Its chairman, Mr Gemunu Wijeratne, said that today the bus service across the island is limited to around 500 buses. The director-general of the National Transport Commission, Dr Nilan Miranda, said that the inter-provincial bus service has also been limited due to the fuel crisis.

Gas price increase from 50 rupees from today

Effective from today (11), the 12.5 kg liter gas cylinder has been increased by 50 rupees.  Accordingly, the revised price is Rs.4,910. Leetro Company also assures that gas will be continuously distributed from today.  The distribution of gas is coordinated through the Special Task Force Police and has been advised to avoid unnecessary hoarding.

The President officially announces that he is resigning from the position

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has been officially informed by Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa that he will resign from the office of President as stated earlier. The Prime Minister’s Media Unit confirms this.  President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa had previously informed the speaker that he would resign from the presidency on the 13th.
