Indian vandalised Buddha Statue died in prison

An Indian national who was remanded in for vandalising Buddha Statues has died in the prison today morning,Prisons Spokesman Chandana Ekanayake said He was remanded in the Wariyapola Prison and he died after being admitted to the Wariyapola Hospital. The Kuliyapitiya Police arrested the suspect last month for damaging heads of some statues of Buddha in Rathmalewatta area. He was residing in Sri lanka since 16 years after marring a Sri lankan women.
GMOA logged a complaint against SLS Director-General Siddhika Senaratne’s statement

Sri Lanka Standard Institute’s Director-General Siddhika Senaratne made an statement claiming that she was aware of t certain food items sold in the market contain substance unfit for human consumption. So, The Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA)lodged a complaint with the Inspector General of Police (IGP) requesting him to conduct investigation into the statement of the Director-Generals statement. Government banned importing palm oil

President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa had instructed to completely ban the importing palm oil,Presidential Media Unit said. The Controller of Imports and Exports instructed to issue the relevant gazette notification on yesterday by the Secretary to the President. Also,the Director General of Customs has been instructed to suspend the issuance of imported palm oil and instructions given to ban the cultivation of thorny coconuts completely.

Special transport service designed for Sinhala and Tamil year for employees in investment promotion zones.

Special transport service launched for the upcoming festive season to employees in investment promotion zones, the National Transport Commission (NTC) said. Buses would be dispatched from nearby locations where the employees working areas without coming to Colombo, Nilan Miranda,Director General of the National Transport said to the media. The National Transport Commission (NTC) had deployed around 3,500 buses for the convenipeople traveling to rural areas for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year and also the Ceylon Transport Board says that another 200 buses will be added to the service in addition to the daily buses. Apart from that, the Railway Department schedules special trains to Badulla, Jaffna, Kurunegala, Anuradhapura, Beliatta and other destinations from the 9th of April for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

Pushpika De Silva will be recrowned as the Mrs Sri lanka 2021 tommorow in a news briefing, the event organisers said. Pushpika De Silva who was crowned as the Mrs. Sri Lanka 2021 crown was removed by Mrs. World Caroline Jurie, at a beauty pageant held last evening. Pushpika is recently admitted to the hospital for treatment. Her assistant states that she had suffered injuries to her scalp after the crown was violently pulled off her head by Mrs world 2020 She has also lodged a police complaint against Jurie and Chula Padmendra who supported the incident. Pushpika de silva had also made a social media statement on that she is not divorced and she is only seperated from her husbund.
Ranjan Ramanayake’s petition against the abolition of the seat is rejected

The Court of Appeal has rejected and dismissed the writ petition filed by Ranjan Ramanayake against the abolition of his parliamentary seat without hearing it. Petition was filed by Attorney-at-Law Suren Fernando lawyers of imprisoned Minister Ranjan Ramanayake for restraining him from losing his parliamentary seat. It was scheduled to be heard by the Presiding Judge of the Court of Appeal, Arjuna Obeysekera and Mayadunne Koroya today (April 5).

Crowning of Mrs Sri lanka grand event was held in Colombo last night and contestants no 20 was crowned by Mrs. World 2020 and Mrs. Sri Lanka, Caroline Jurie. Then the winner was congratulated on stage by the Chief Guest, Shiranthi Rajapaksa, wife of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. But the people among invitees noted the judges that the winner in now divorced. Then the Caroline Jurie made an annousement that all the contestant should be married not divorced as she is crowning the second runner up as the winner. Then she removed the crown from the winner contestant no 20 on stage and crowned the first-runner up as the new winner.
