Mrs. World 2020 Caroline Jurie and former model Chula Padmendra have been released on Police bail, after they were taken into custody earlier today. The two women were arrested over the controversial incident that took place at the Mrs. Sri Lanka for World Pageant held in Colombo on Sunday (04). The Cinnamon Gardens Police said Jurie and Padmendra were arrested after they arrived at the Police station to record statements over the incident. Jurie had uncrowned Pushpika Silva who was announced as the winner, over allegations that she was divorced and cannot contest the event. Chula Padmendra had supported Jurie’s actions at the event. Pushpika had later initiated legal action against the two women, after announcing that she was not a divorcee. Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the spread of extremism in Oluvil, Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said. He further added that they were arrested for lecturing students who sat for the GCE Ordinary Level Examination recently. The suspects detified as followers of Easter Sunday attack lynchpin Zahran Hashim. The two suspects were age 30 and 39 had conducted brainwash lessons in 2018 in Oluvil area. He further explained that they had used video footages and lecturers from various terrorist and radical organizations that are based in foreign countries, especially they use those that promote extremism and terrorism The students have been instructed to follow physical fitness training during the classes and even some of them were physically harassed after they disagree to attend the physical training, Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
Buddhist monk rescued from flooded cave in Thailand after four days

Thai rescue team had rescued a Buddhist monk from a flooded cave in Thailand’s Phitsanulok province after four days he went inside to meditate Saturday.An unseasonal rainstorm started on Sunday and caused water levels to rise and flood the cave. A team of 17 divers from a local rescue unit helped to rescue the monk out to safety on Wednesday. The monks name is Phra Ajarn Manas, and he is 46 now and makes a pilgrimage to the Phra Sai Ngam cave each year. A group of people deported from Dubai over nude balcony shoot

A group of people were arrested in Dubai for a nude photoshoot on a balcony Dubai’s Marina area are set to be deported. A video posted to social media showed a group posing nude and it shows at least 12 Ukrainian women and a Russian man. The group was accused of public debauchery, which carries a sentence of up to six months in prison and a 5,000 dirham fine (£981). Police said the photoshoot did not “reflect the values and ethics of Emirati society”.BBC This isn’t the first time foreigners have been arrested in Dubai.Previously a British woman was sentenced to one year in prison for having consensual sex with a man she wasn’t married to in 2017.
Chinese nationals arrested for operating gambling center in Bambalapitiya

Police arrested Five Chinese nationals including a female in connection with operating an illegal gambling center located down Lauris Road in the Bambalapitiya Police area. Arresting was done after a special joint operation conducted by the Bambalapitiya and Colpety Police, Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana said. According to the Deputy Police Chief, a total of Rs. 1 million and 88,500 and a total of 2600 Chinese Yuan were seized from the gambling center.
A male dead body was found in Mountlavinia

The body of a male found with multiple cut wounds around the neck near a house on the Galle Road in the Mount Lavinia today. The Mt. Lavinia Police officers have initiated an investigation upon being alerted about the matter that a person with stab wounds had fallen at the scene. The deceased has been identified as a 22-year-old male and resident of Mount Lavinia. The deceased body is currently placed at the Colombo South Teaching Hospital in Kalubowila. The Mount Lavinia Police are conducting futher investigations to arrest the perpetratorsconnection with the incident.
