Central Bank Governor Mr Nandalal Weerasinghe states that if a stable government is not established in the country very soon, the country is likely to be shut down.
He also claims that further work with the International Monetary Fund depends on having stable governance.
He says that even the provision of sufficient foreign exchange for the import of fuel in the country has become uncertain and he has also mentioned that public violence has arisen in the country due to the economic crisis.
He mentioned this while speaking with the BBC news service.
