After several cases of taking a photograph of a woman’s private parts without her consent, the British government has taken steps to introduce new laws.

The new proposals also aim to protect victims of abuse and retaliation for taking close-up images of women as indecent footage.

The new laws aim to make it illegal in England and Wales to take photographs of women’s bodies, whether in public or in private, without their consent.

The country’s Law Commission, which reviews these legislative proposals, also calls for a ban on sharing obscene footage without consent. Currently, in England and Wales, acts such as upskirting or voyeurism are considered a crime.
