Four billion dollars from China to Sri Lanka
Bloomberg reports quoting the Sri Lankan ambassador to China that Sri Lanka is continuing to negotiate with China for US$4 billion in aid and believes that China will agree to it. In an interview with Bloomberg, Ambassador Palitha Kohona said that China will be asked for a billion-dollar loan to pay the same amount as the Chinese debt due this year. Kohona has further said that Sri Lanka is looking for a line of credit of US$1.5 billion to pay for Chinese imports and is also looking to enable an exchange of US$1.5 billion.

The curfew imposed in the Colombo district at noon yesterday was lifted at 5.00 am today (15). Ceylon Private Bus Owners’ Association said that after the lifting of the curfew, buses started running in the Colombo district.
