Political Crisis in Sri Lanka – Ministry of Defence warned about a terrorist attack highlighting the ‘Blak July’

The letter submitted by the Inspector General of Police to the Secretary of Defense mentioning information about a terrorist attack is currently circulating in the social media.

Highlighting the ‘Black July’ in that article, the revelation of a terrorist attack which is said to take place on the 5th and 6th of this month has been taken into account based on unconfirmed information received through the intelligence agencies.

This information is unconfirmed information by intelligence agencies and as mentioned in the article, no information has been received about the possibility of a terrorist attack highlighting ‘Black July’.

It was further informed that these attacks could be carried out by terrorist groups and various anti-government groups could incite violence to discredit and destabilize the government.

Further investigations are currently being carried out on this intelligence information and all measures have been taken to ensure a high level of security by giving priority to public safety.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Defense further requests the public not to worry and engage in their daily activities.
