Ambassadors from 14 Western countries have called on the government to help raise its voice in Ukraine.
They emphasized that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was unacceptable.
They, therefore, call on Sri Lanka to join Ukraine and in active support for international peace and security.
A joint statement issued by the 14 Ambassadors to Sri Lanka stressed and request Sri Lanka to join them in urging Russia to end its hostilities immediately.
The statement added that they would work with their friends around the world to ensure the restoration of Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a joint statement that they were with Ukraine for independence, democracy and the sovereignty of nations around the world.
The High Commissioner of Australia, High Commissioner of Canada, Representative of the European Union, Ambassador of France, Ambassador of Germany, Ambassador of Italy, Ambassador of the Netherlands, New Zealand High Commissioner, Ambassador of Norway, Ambassador of Japan, Ambassador of Romania, Signed by the Ambassador of Switzerland. In addition, the High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and the Ambassador to the United States have signed the joint statement.
