Inflation rose to 14.2 per cent in January, the Central Bank said. Inflation in December stood at 12.1 per cent. Its because Inflation in the food and non-food sectors also rose in January.
Food inflation rose to 25 per cent in January from 22.1 per cent in the previous month, the central bank said.
Non-food inflation rose to 9.2 percent in January from 7.5 percent in December. Rising prices of rice, fruits, milk powder and bread in January were the main reasons for the rise in inflation, the Central Bank said.
