The University Grants Commission (UGC) says that Vice Chancellors are allowed to reopen universities at any time after today (26) subject to health guidelines.

Speaking at a media briefing this morning, its chairman Senior Professor Sampath Amaratunga said that several university buildings have been used as quarantine centers.

However, considering the current situation in the country, it is possible to start universities even after the release of those buildings, said Senior Professor Sampath Amaratunga.
