A new law from China to reduce the homework given to children at school

China has passed a new law to reduce homework for school children.

Authorities in the country say the new education law aims to reduce the pressure on children to engage in extracurricular activities at home after school.

Chinese authorities are urging parents to give their children a reasonable amount of time to relax and exercise and not to spend too much time online.

China also banned written exams for children ages 6 and 7 last August.
