Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has submitted a proposal to construct 200 houses for Members of Parliament.
The proposal made by Mahinda Rajapaksa in his capacity as the Minister of Urban Development and Housing is to provide houses from the Viyatpura housing project and to construct another 200 houses on the same land as the Madiwela MP’s residence.
However, a new proposal is to be submitted to amend the resolution as the National Planning Department has not given recommendations for those projects.
The Cabinet Sub-Committee has also recommended that a new Cabinet Memorandum be submitted after obtaining the recommendations.
