Piliyandala Medical Officer of Health Dr. Indika Ellawala has been infected with the covid-19 virus.

The office of the Medical Officer of Health stated that the doctor had confirmed that he was infected during the PCR examination conducted in the last few days due to the symptoms.

The Medical Officer of Health has been referred for home treatment. Vaccination programs are currently being implemented on the premises of the Medical Officer of Health.

Administrative Public Health Inspector Sumith Mark de Silva said that such a place is disinfected daily and those who come to seek the services of the Medical Officer of Health should not be afraid.
