A stock of 2 million doses of Sinopharm vaccine made in China has been brought to Sri Lanka. The consignment was brought to Sri Lanka by two planes from Beijing at around 5.30 am today (22), the Airport correspondent said. The vaccine was purchased by the State Pharmaceutical Corporation. Accordingly, the total number of Sinopharm vaccines imported to Sri Lanka is 9.1 million, said Minister of State Prof. Channa Jayasumana.

The Ministry of Health has given approval to a German company to obtain a construction permit for a biological sample collection center and a laboratory for PCR testing at the Katunayake Airport premises.
