A small whale with burn wounds had been dumped on the beach.

Local fishermen point out that the body of a small whale with burn wounds had been dumped on the Karadikkuli beach in the Musali Divisional Secretariat Division in Mannar yesterday evening (19).

A group of fishermen in the area had spotted the whale when they were fishing and had informed the Mannar Assistant Fisheries Inspector’s Office.

Residents and fishermen in the area say that there are burn wounds on many parts of the body of the whale and it is suspected that it was a whale that was caught in the fire of the Express Pearl ship recently.

Meanwhile, the bodies of dead turtles and a large whale had been dumped in Mannar and Jaffna in the last few days.
